 Interview Technique
It's the day of the interview and you're ready
- Switch your mobile phone off!
- Try to eat something before you go out - this will help you to concentrate and function better in a stressful situation
- Treat everyone you meet at the company courteously and with a smile.
- When you meet the interviewer for the first time smile and shake their hand. Your hand shake must be positive without being too firm - this is an interview not a hand wrestling competition
- Try and relax as this shows confidence, but don't overdo it.
- Listen to what the interviewer is saying.
- Maintain eye contact with the interviewer and ensure vou smile.
- When being asked an open question answer confidently, and fully.
- Always tell the truth!
- Don't argue with the interviewer
- Don't answer open questions with a closed reply
- Don't show your past employers in a bad light
- Don't ask about money or entitlements unless the interview invites you to
- Don't smoke - even if the interviewer smokes and invites you to do so, don't be tempted.
Be careful of your body language - don't sit with your arms and legs crossed as this appears
defensive, don't lean across the desk as this appear aggressive. Try to sit upright and don't
slouch - practice this before you go to the interview so that it appears natural for you.

Remember, God gave you two ears and one mouth - it's always a good idea
to use them in that ratio!
